Joelene was born in Ovid, Idaho, on December 25, 1937, to Emma Olsen and Russell Grimmett Bruce. She moved to Soda Springs with her mother and brother, Bob in 1939. She graduated from Soda Springs High School and attended Utah State University in Logan. She returned to Soda Springs to work at Monsanto Company, where she met and married Russell H. Crouse in 1957, and made their home in Soda Springs. In 1976, they moved to Fernie, British Columbia, and later to Calgary, Alberta. They then moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a couple of years. They moved to Boise, Idaho, and Las Vegas, Nevada and eventually moved back to Salt Lake City to make their home. She had worked for her mother at Soda Springs Floral from many years, and helped manage it until it sold in the mid-’90s. She worked for Sand-Star Family Entertainment for 10 years as collections manager before she retired in 2002. She loved golf, swimming, quilting and scrapbooking. She served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary Golf Club for one year in Soda Springs and taught Red Cross swimming at Lava Hot Springs for many years. She loved to play card games with her friends and family. She loved her girls and her grandchildren with a passion. She is survived by her husband, Russell, and two daughters, Toni and Brent Cisco of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Lisa and Dan Wilde of Soda Springs, Idaho. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Allison Joelene Cisco and Scott Carroll Cisco of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Jason Russell Wilde and Colter Dan Wilde of Soda Springs, Idaho; and numerous cousins, including a very special cousin, Jacque and Larry Clark of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Bob Bruce. Services will be Thursday, May 4, 2006, at noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center, (290 South Third West), with Bishop Randy Hubbard conducting. Family will meet friends Wednesday evening, May 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
