He was born September 4, 1934, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Robert Cutler and Carmen Catherine Neaf Cole. He was the fourth of seven children. Bob grew up on a small ranch in the Marsh Valley area. He attended schools in Arimo and Marsh Valley. He graduated in 1952 from Marsh Valley High School. Our dad’s greatest love in his life was his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in teaching his daughter “how to fix darn near anything,” and that 100 percent is nearly good enough. Grandpa took every opportunity to be in the outdoors with his family, whether it was hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling or riding four-wheelers. Bob worked for the Montpelier Police Department until 1969, at which time he went to work in the phosphate industry. During his employment in the phosphate industry he made 25 trips to New Orleans, Mississippi and Florida to troubleshoot phosphate operations. He retired in 2000, after more than 30 years in the phosphate business. Bob is survived by five children and their spouses, Robert Ray (Chris) Cole of Casper, Wyoming, Brenda (Ray) Fiske of Nounan, Idaho, Beki (Scott) Williams of Montpelier, Beverly Christiansen of Montpelier and Leslie (Mike) Hulse of Thatcher, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two on the way. He is also survived by one brother and four sisters, Ronald (Mary Jo) Cole of Fielding, Utah, LaDean (Don) Fowler of Provo, Utah, Lois (Dean) Johnson of Blackfoot, Idaho, Donna (Grant) Burke of Pocatello, Idaho, and Alice (Don) Voss of Moses Lake, Washington; and his personal care provider, Rebecca DeSano. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday evening, May 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary and on Thursday morning at the church from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
