LaVell was born May 24, 1942 in Deseret, Utah, to William Stanley Bradfield and Eva Elder Bradfield. He grew up in Leamington, Utah and attended Delta High School. LaVell retired from the Salt Lake County Sewer District in December 1999. LaVell married Virginia Heaps October 26, 1962; they had four children, Kevin, Douglas, Brenda, and Craig. LaVell and Virginia later divorced but LaVell remained close to his children and remained active and involved in each of their lives. LaVell then married DeeAnn Loder Hansen November 9 1979; he made a loving home and was a caring stepfather for DeeAnn's children, Jodi (Hansen) Green and Danny Hansen. LaVell loved his family first and foremost and he loved an lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting, camping, ATV riding, gardening, quiet nights in his reloading room, and spending time at his cabin in Bear Lake, Utah. LaVell and DeeAnn also enjoyed the RV lifestyle, spending their winter months frolicking in Southern Arizona and Mexico. No matter what LaVell was doing, it was important to him to spend the time with his wife and family. LaVell was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, DeeAnn; children, Kevin (Jodi), Douglas (Shonya), Brenda (Kevin) Goodwin, and Craig Bradfield; as well as his stepchildren, Jodi (Randy) Green and Danny (Kirsten) Hansen; sisters, JoAnn (Ralph) Anderton and Lyn (Ken) McGuire; and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at the West Bountiful LDS Church located at 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street and from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. Published in the Deseret News on 5/30/2006.
