She was born June 14, 1921, in Price, Utah, to Angelo and Aspasia (Tzagarakis) Kontgas. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1939. Ann met Harry Dudunake while competing in a marching band competition in Pocatello. They married on Nov. 2, 1941, in Price. Ann’s most glorious days were enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. Ann assisted with the operations of the Dude’s Café while Harry and his siblings entered the military. When Harry returned from war, Ann went on to become very involved in the cosmetology (beauty) profession. She owned three Idaho beauty schools, located in Blackfoot, Pocatello and Montpelier. Ann also owned eight beauty salons. She worked as an instructor at Idaho State University Cosmetology School. Ann helped her husband in his business, Beauty Aid Distributors, which supplied barber and beauty supplies and equipment. She served two terms as state president for the Idaho Cosmetology Association and for the Idaho State Board Examiner and the Policy Boards. Although Ann was not blessed with birth children, she loved her nieces and nephews. Ann had several God-children through her affiliation with the Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed music very much and had a clarinet she loved and cherished. Ann organized and directed the Greek Orthodox Church choir. She was a lifetime member of the Daughters of Penelope and involved with Soroptimist International and was guardian of Job’s Daughters, Bethel No. 1. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Barbara Kontgas of Price, Utah, and Helen (Frank) Dagres; brother-in-laws, John (June) Dudunake of Pocatello and Matthew Dudunake of Las Vegas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at the Greek Orthodox Church, 518 N. Fifth Ave. A Trisagion (prayer service) and viewing are planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Downard Hansen Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield Ave. The family would like to extend warm appreciation to Caring Hearts Assisted Living for their loving, compassionate care.
