She was the oldest of three children and was born April 8, 1920, to Simpson Evans and Louella Matthews Hymas, in Liberty, Idaho. She graduated from Paris High School. She married Robert (Bob) Francis Hill on May 31, 1941, in Soda Springs, Idaho.Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Bob passed away Jan. 15, 2000. Together with her husband they owned and operated Bob's Cafe in Grace, Idaho, for 30 years. They were known for their delicious home-cooked meals. They had many friends associated with their business. Mona represented Edward's Floral in Preston for many years. After selling the cafe, she worked as a secretary for Hooper Elementary School in Soda Springs until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many organizations of the church. Bob and Mona were called to serve as temple workers in the Logan Temple where they made many lasting friendships. After the passing of her husband, Mona lived with her daughter in Grace for two years. She moved to Pioneer Valley Lodge Retirement Center where she has resided for the remaining years of her life. Here she found many new friends and enjoyed her life there very much. Thanks to those who were so good to her, Mona enjoyed her family. They were her pride and joy. She especially loved her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved family outings and enjoyed telling them about growing up in Liberty, Idaho. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and friend. She was a very loyal friend and had a great sense of humor. Everyone loved being around her. She enjoyed a good laugh. We will all miss her so much. Mona is survived by one son and four daughters and their spouses, Jeffery and Janet Hill, Riverton, Utah; Margo and Eldred May, Grace; Lynne and Michael Jones, Pocatello; Jennifer and Kip Panter, Richmond, Utah; April and Kevin Smith, Grace. Surviving also are 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Scott Hymas, San Jose, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and her little brother, Kip. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, at noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center with Bishop Craig Siler officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the Grace Stake Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
