She was born July 23, 1917 at the home of her parents, Amy Johanna Nielson and Lorenzo Joy Shurtliff in Ovid, Idaho. She and her husband, Bryan Lloyd Booth, were married in the Logan LDS Temple on May 31, 1940. Five children blessed their union. Darleen is survived by one son, Glade S. (Linda) Booth of Salt Lake City; four daughters, DeeAnn (Charles) Price of Daniel, Wyoming; Carmen (Michael) Madsen of Garden City; Denise (Kent) Haddock of Henderson, Nevada; Marcene (Dan) Littledike of Kamas, Utah; 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and one sister Edyth (Dean) Ward of Bloomington, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Joy, and one great-grandson, Brecken Haddock. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, at 12 noon in the Bear Lake Ward Chapel in Garden City, Utah, where friends may visit with family that morning from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The interment will be in the Garden City Cemetery with the services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier, Idaho.
