She was born in Georgetown, Idaho, on July 19, 1930, to Mary Anderson Stoddard and Willard R. Stoddard, the youngest of seven children. She married Lewis R. Young Jr., on June 20, 1948, in Georgetown. This marriage was later solemnized on September 30, 1983. A member of the Church of Latterday Saints, she served as Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout leader and Relief Society president. Raised on a sheep ranch, her love for animals was only surpassed by her love and giving to family and friends. A valedictorian of Georgetown High School in 1948, she was a cheerleader and rodeo queen as well. She worked as a waitress for a short time, then at Walton Feed in Montpelier, Idaho, for over 20 years, where she made many friends from the farms and ranches in the tri-state area. She is survived by her husband, Lewis R. Young Jr.; daughter, Patricia D. Bronson (Claude); and son, Lewis R. Young III (Lesa); also six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Jan. 19, at noon in the Georgetown LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with family at Matthews Mortuary on Wednesday evening, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:30 until 11:45 am. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
