She was born on September 22, 1928 in Montpelier, Idaho, a daughter of Nicholas Cornelius and Edna Muriel Cook Laughter. Barbara married Lloyd Dewayne Thurston on September 20, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1991. She was a member of the LDS Church. Barbara worked at Modern Cleaners as a presser, and retired in 2003. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting but loved her grandchildren the most. Surviving are two children, Michael Dewayne (Jodie) Thurston, Salt Lake City; Jill Elizabeth (David) Perry, Brigham City; three grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth (Joshua) Sepulveda, Shane Matthew (Katrina) Perry, Jaime Dawn (Cache) Myers; five great grandchildren, Mikayla Elizabeth, Amalia Jean and Noah Benjamin Sepulveda; Kylie ! Morgan Perry and Alyssa Dawn Myers; one grandpup, Hanna; three brothers, James G. Laughter, Pleasant View, Nick C. Laughter and C. Kirk Laughter both of Ogden; two sisters, Venice L. Turner, Ogden and Karen Sherrill, Santa Maria, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Doris May Mortensen. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Barbara's name, at 4578 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 24th LDS Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and on Friday at the church from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
