CHARLES - Colleen Margaret Stock Wilkes, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2005, in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of cancer.She was born on November 20, 1932, in Fish Haven, Idaho, the second of three daughters to Eleda Hopkins and Ray C. Stock. In July of 1951, at a Fish Haven Resort dance, she was introduced to Arlen C. Wilkes. This was the beginning of a relationship that their children and their posterity will be eternally grateful for. On December 29, 1952, they were married for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She spent most of her life in the Bear Lake valley of Idaho. She loved her family, gardening, crafts and helping others. She loved flowers and always maintained a beautiful flower garden and shared her talent with others.She enjoyed Swedish weaving, crocheting and quilting. She made numerous quilts for her grandchildren and many others. She was always helping and serving others. She organized a program to obtain tapes for the visually impaired. Colleen served in many positions in the St. Charles Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in presidencies of the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women, and as a ward organist for 48 years. Colleen is survived by her husband, Arlen C. Wilkes; her children, Michael A. (Marilyn) Wilkes of Katy, Texas, David A. (Wendy) Wilkes of Providence, Utah, Steven M. (Debbie) of Mesa, Ariz., Kathy (Mark) Stringham of Garden City, Utah, Bruce K. (Sandy) Wilkes of Kukuihaele, Hawaii, Boyd R. (Rebecca) Wilkes of Caldwell, Idaho, Ryan C. (Jennifer) Wilkes of Logan, Utah; her stepmother, Wanda Stock; her older sister, Connie (Alan) Francom; her younger sister, Mary Ann (Larry) Jaussi; her stepsister, Dorothy Gerber; her stepbrother, Clark Stock; 28 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Stock, mother, Eleda L. Stock, a stepbrother, Bary C. Stock and a granddaughter, Chantel Wilkes. Funeral services are scheduled on Thursday, October 27, at 2 p.m. in the St. Charles LDS Chapel, where friends may visit with family that day from noon until 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
