He was born Feb. 20, 1919 in Raymond, Bear Lake County, Idaho a son to Clarence Leroy and Elizabeth Zumbrunnen Mumford. He was raised in Raymond, Idaho and Cokeville, Wyo. where he received his education and graduated from Cokeville High School in 1937. Harold served as a sergeant in the United States Army, with the Coast 125th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion in Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland where he received the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in December of 1945. He later worked for the US Postal Service for 23 years, retiring in October of 1982. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Doris Williams Sept. 2, 1958. They were later divorced. Harold was a simple man with an up-lifting attitude. He was quick with a cheerful hello and was friendly to all he met. He never complained. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and older brother, Marvin. Harold is survived by one sister, June Mumford Timmreck of Ogden, Utah; and her children, Morris (Michelle) Timmreck of West Bountiful, Utah, Mollie Timmreck Collins of Ogden, Utah; and his longtime companion, Vera Abbot of Boise. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Relyea Funeral Chapel. A private family interment will take place at Dry Creek Cemetery, Syringa Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Red Cross.
