Surnames: Parker, Gilbert, Swainston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADI/1697 Message Board Post: Twin Falls Times-News, 07/12/06 BUHL Emma Gilbert Parker, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Buhl, Idaho, on Monday, July 10, 2006.Emma was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Bancroft, Idaho, to her parents, James Harris Gilbert and Jennie Swainston. After completing her basic education in Bancroft, Emma attended Ricks College and obtained an elementary teaching degree. She taught school in Wardboro, Idaho, where she met and married George Elwood Parker in the Logan Temple on March 19, 1943. They were the parents of six children, Blane G. Parker (deceased), Susan Parker Vermillion of Lubbock, Texas, Myron G. Parker of Twin Falls, Idaho, Laureen Parker Groom (deceased), Kelly G. Parker of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tim G. Parker of Hansen, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one son and a daughter. She is survived by four sisters and one brother, four children, 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Emma was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions and callings. She loved life and lived to the fullest. Emma shared her talents with many throughout her life. She loved to read, sew, cook and paint. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, at the Buhl LDS Church, 501 S. Main St. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery of Buhl. Arrangements have been entrusted to Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, Idaho.
