Bunn passed away early Friday morning, July 21, 2006, at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho, at the age of 85. Lyman was born on April 11, 1921, at Bunn Hollow in Lanark, Idaho, to John V. And Hortense Bateman Bunn. He was an identical twin to his brother Lamont. He attended school in Lanark and Paris. In l937, the family moved to Paris where he lived the rest of his life except for short periods of time. He served in World War II in the Air Force from Sept. 1, 1942, to November 24, 1945. He was stationed in Iceland for the majority of his time in the service. Lyman married Edith Mary Bird of Dingle, Idaho, on July 20, 1946, in Paris. They had two sons, Craig L. and Brent R. Lyman worked at the ice plant and the San Francisco Chemical Co. in Montpelier. He then went to work for contractor Roland Jaussi for 10 years, and later he worked for C.E. Jewell and Son Construction Co. until he retired in 1981. Lyman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings over the years. In 1966 their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple. He was always a hard worker and always had a positive attitude. He was known for the large garden he grew every year. He lived for his children and grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. Lyman is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 60 years, Edith; sons, Craig and Cynthia of Corona, Calif., and Brent and Susie of Montpelier; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Johnson and Connie and Lynn Peterson; brother-in-law, Jerry Bird; and sisters-in-law, Mary Bunn and Flora Bird. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Grover, Rex, Jackie, Lamont, and sisters, Urilda, Beverly Jane and Rhea. We would like to thank all those who were so helpful during his illness, especially the doctors and nurses at Bear Lake Memorial and Portneuf Hospital and the Home Health nurses. Funeral services are scheduled on Thursday, July 27, at 2 p.m. in the Paris Stake Center where friends may visit with the family from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. The burial will be in the Paris Cemetery with full military honors and with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
