She was born Jan. 17, 1934, at Meadow, Utah, to Joseph Ezra and Charlotte Bushnell Dame. Verla was the youngest of seven children. She married Paul Morris Pedersen in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on July 2, 1954. To this union was added five children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions throughout the years. She always tried to make everyone's day a little better and was a great example of self-sacrifice. She love the outdoors and everything it entailed. She loved being with her family, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, sewing and many other hobbies. Verla was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Verla is survived by her husband, of Liberty, Idaho; her five children, Paul Mark Pedersen (Judy Gale) of West Jordan, Utah, Verla Jean Kunz (Ian) of Gooding, Idaho, Ken Howard Pedersen (Jamie) of Boise, Idaho, Roger Morris Pedersen (Judy Lynn) of Montpelier, Idaho, Colleen Marie Kelsey of Liberty, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mae and Evelyn. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20, at noon in the Liberty LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with family at Matthews Mortuary on Tuesday evening, July 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church in Liberty from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services in the Liberty Cemetery.
