She was better known as "Chick" and was born June 9, 1924, in Paris, Idaho, the 4th daughter of Lester A. and Jennett Ringel Allred. Chick was married to LaVan Nelson and they had four children. She lived almost her entire life in Paris. She married Van Ness Wallentine in 1988, and he passed away in 1990. Chick is survived by her four children; Karl Nelson of Las Vegas, Nev., Susan Bolton of Soda Springs, Jim Nelson of Lava Hot Springs, and Eric Nelson of O'Fallon, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Yvonne Palmer of Paris. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in the Paris Stake Center where friends may visit with the family that morning from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
