He was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Paris, Idaho, to John and Estella Shepherd Jaussi. He was raised in Paris, where he graduated from Fielding High School. He worked in creameries run by his father and learned cheese-making. He also worked on ranches in Bear Lake and Caribou counties. He attended Ricks College in the late 1930s. While at Ricks he met Barbara Davis. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple Aug. 21, 1940. They moved to Bear Lake, Geneva, where they managed and ran a creamery. In 1948, they returned to Rexburg, and Cliff attended Ricks again, which was a four year school at that time. He graduated in 1951. He was a carpenter with his father-in-law, Dave Davis, off and on. In 1953 he began teaching at Madison High School and continued there until his retirement in 1983. He set up the Madison High Intramural program and the city summer and winter recreation programs, which he ran for many years. He was a member of The LDS Church and held many positions. He was active in the Boy Scouts, civic clubs, and Republican politics. He led the Youth Legislature activities for Madison High, taking many youth to Boise for legislature sessions. He was an active Ricks College alumnus, receiving several awards from the association. He supported youth activities, enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by two sons, Dave (Daila) Jaussi of Rexburg and Dale Jaussi of Sandy, Utah; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, a brother and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Rexburg 4th Ward Chapel by Bishop Brent Barker. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-6:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
