She was born on September 21, 1923, in Logan, Utah to John Michel and Margaritha Amacher Michel. She grew up in Logan and graduated from Logan High School with the class of 1942. Three children were born to them, the twins Robert and Ronald, and a daughter Kathleen Ruth. They lived in Paris, Idaho, most of their married life, but spent many happy summers in Lower Bern living on the farm that they purchased from Uncle George. 1. H. Dean Hoff (1910-2005) Obit
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hoff, Day, Hobson, Johnson Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADI/1463 Message Board Post: The Idaho Statesman | Edition Date: June 05, 2005 H. Dean Hoff of Boise passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Capitol Care Center in Boise. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Dean was born July 12, 1910 at Georgetown, Idaho. He was the fourth of five children born to William Henry and Polly Jane Hoff. He was raised and educated in Georgetown and graduated at the head of his class. On Nov. 25, 1935 he married Maurine Day at Paris, Idaho. They were married for 30 very wonderful and happy years until her death in 1965. Dean married Eva Rae Hobson at Salt Lake City. They had many good years and times together until her passing from heart surgery complications. Several years later, Dean married Genevive Johnson of Boise. They shared happy times snow binding, traveling, camping, and dancing until her death. As a boy, Dean´s love for music got him playing the clarinet and saxophone. When he was 12 years old, he was in a "community band" with 22 men in it, he being the only boy. His ability with the "horns" was "Big Band" quality. The Lawrence Welk programs were the highlight of the week for many, many years. Dean and several friends had a band called the "Super Sounds" and they played weekly dances for several years. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1936 to 1945, first as a fireman, then as an engineer. Dean said many times his work on the railroad was his first role in helping our country put an end to the terrible World War II. Dean represented several insurance companies for several years. He never quite felt the insurance business was the livelihood he desired. As a young man he took a lengthy and complex correspondence course in electricity and motors. His fascination with electricity prompted him to work for a couple of electrical contractors and he soon discovered that if he could do a good job for others, he could be successful in his own business. Dean started Boise Electric in 1959 and it is still here 46 years later. Many electrical companies have "sprouted" up over the years from "Dean´s Electrical Tree." Dean loved camping, RV-ing, hunting, and fishing. He was a master fly-fisherman, even though he was left-handed. Above all, Dean was a gentleman and honest man. He prided himself on being on time and doing everything he told others he would do. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and fulfilled numerous callings. Over the years he was active in the Elks Lodge, Lions Club, Moose Lodge, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed going to various Senior Centers and many times provided musical numbers. Dean is survived by his sons R. Dean (Violet) Hoff and Glenn M. (Juneil) Hoff of Meridian, stepdaughter Debbie (John) Koerner of Fort Worth, Texas, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and very special friend, Rae Kunselmon of Boise.
