In the 1900 ID Census, they are living in Montpelier, Bear Lake Co. with four children - Petrea M., female, age 10, b. Denmark; Christina, female, age 7, b. ? (says Denmark, but that can't be right); Tora (think this may be Dora), female, age 6, b. RI??? (probably should be ID); James I, male, age 4 yrs, b. IA (suspect this is wrong and should also be ID). I cannot find James, Anna or any of the children anywhere in the 1910 Census or anytime thereafter. If someone can help with my search, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you. Jackie

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Pugmire, Christensen, Thornock Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADI/1482 Message Board Post: Idaho State Journal, 07/03/05 ST. CHARLES, Idaho - James McKay Pugmire, 90, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005, at the Jordan Valley Hospital in South Jordan, Utah. He was born Sept. 26, 1914, in St. Charles, Idaho, to Jonathan James and Ada Lillian Christensen Pugmire. He was the second of 11 children and was born in the house where he spent his youth and most of his adult life as well. On Oct. 31, 1941, he married his sweetheart and eternal companion, LaNore Thornock, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Dingle until 1948, when they then moved back to St. Charles. He really considered St. Charles the only place to be. They told us four kids that they were blessed to have us and we all know that we are blessed to have such wonderful parents. James loved farming. In 1948, he bought a farm in the east hills of Bear Lake and farmed alongside Ralph Booth until Ralph's death in 1976. He continued on his own until 1979, when he started having several health problems. James also served for 10 years with the ASCS. With his retiring from the farm he turned each summer, full time, to growing a large, well-tended garden, which he enjoyed sharing the fruits of, with his family and neighbors. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a High Priest and has served in many leadership positions, having been in the Mutual Presidency, Sunday School Presidency, Bishop of the St. Charles Ward, home teacher, and with his wife, was a Logan Temple Ordinance Worker, a calling they both enjoyed for 5 years. They quit because of his health and the opportunity of having Grandma Thornock with them for part of the year. On Oct. 17, 2001, James lost his sweetheart suddenly, just 2 weeks before their 60th anniversary, and though it was such a terrible loss for him, his spirits were still good. He dearly loved his family and friends. He liked nothing more than calls and visits from them. James is survived by his four children, Linda Naegle of Tonapah, Ariz., McKay Pugmire of Logan, Utah, Julie Pugmire of South Jordan, Utah, Barbara and Gary Flaherty of Logan, Utah, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, six brothers and sisters, Jack and Margaret Pugmire of Ogden, Utah, Jarvis and Joan Pugmire of Hemet, Calif., Myrtle McGuire of Boise, Idaho, Dona Vallier of Ogden, Utah, and Verna and George Sanes of Fair Oaks, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers and sisters, Reed (Lois) Pugmire, Kay Pugmire, Leola Taylor and Marge (Wayne) Walk. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, at noon in the St. Charles LDS Ward Chapel where friends may visit with family that morning from 10 until 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.

    1. Rulon Hymas (1907-2005) Obit
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hymas, Davis, Parker Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADI/1481 Message Board Post: Deseret Morning News, 07/01/05 Rulon Hymus "Mr. Oil" Born September 23, 1907 in Paris, Idaho to Arthur James Hymas and Cordelia (Della) Davis Hymas. He is proof that the good don't always die young. He passed away peacefully while getting ready for breakfast, June 29, 2005, at the Golden Living Retirement Center. He had just returned to the Assistance Living Center from Cottonwood Hospital the day before after another bout with pneumonia. He will be truly missed by all the many people that knew him. He married Delores M. Parker June 20, 1935. He and his love of a lifetime enjoyed much during their younger years, (their 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.), traveling and camping in their fifth-wheel. They enjoyed being with family and friends, going to the canyons and playing their banjo's while all were singing around the campfire at night. He and Delores also enjoyed bowling in several leagues. Rulon graduated from East High School, studied to be a certified public account but did not want to leave his current employer, Premium Oil Company, to work in a accounting office for two years in order to become a CPA. He said that he didn't think taking the CPA test would have made any difference in his profession, but he did regret never taking the final test. His ability in accounting did pay off however because he was promoted to supervisor over Premium Oil's 32 retail service stations, before moving on to more responsibilities. In his younger days he worked on his fathers farm, had a paper route, worked as a service station attendant, a service station manager, worked on a natural gas pipeline between Wyoming and Salt Lake City, worked in a logging camp in Vancouver, Washington, worked in a feed store with his brother Merrill in Salt Lake City, and at the same time worked full time at Shell Oil Company across the street from the feed store, worked for Utah Oil Refining Company, then in 1935 began working for Premium Oil, and this was the beginning of his life long career with that company. He worked for them for 67 years. He was phenomenal at facts and figures. During his life he was Vice President of Premium Oil Company, President of Premoco Oil Company, President of PR Transport Company, and Secretary-Treasurer of Leeoco Oil Company. In Oct., 2002, at the age of 95 he retired because of health reasons, however, still maintained his position on the board of directors. He resigned from the board o! f directors in 2004. He said that he couldn't ask for a better company to work for, and that it had been an enjoyable 67 years. Survived by daughter, Jean (Ed) Smith, Taylorsville, UT; son, Robert (Sue) Hymas, Herriman, UT; Delores's son, Jack (Arlene) Hymas, St. George, UT; Delores's daughter, Peggy Walker, Lakewood, CO; brother, James Davis (Marge) Hymas; sister-in-law, Ione Hymas, Taylorsville, UT. brother-in-law, Roy Parker, Bailey, CO; many grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews whom he loved and was dearly loved in return. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Delores; brothers, Rayby James (Gladys) Hymas, Merrill Hymas, Harold (Alice) Hymas and sister, Pearl (Max) Pace; great grandson, Trent Michael Smith; grandson, Larry Hymas. We want to give special thanks to Harmony Home Health Care, and Harmony Hospice for the excellent care they gave to our very loving father. Also a special thank you to the Golden Living Center for their care of our wonderful father. He had a smile for all and nobody ever heard hi! m say one unkind word about anyone. He was always willing to be of any service he could to anyone and was the most agreeable man anyone ever meet. He was a true believer in "live and let live". His warm kindness and terrific attitude will never be forgotten by those who meet him. Funeral services will be held Wed., July 6, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Ward House, 5233 South, 3200 West, Taylorsville, UT. Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 5, 2005, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Rulon told his daughter he liked to help others as much as possible and they talked about donations. So as a suggestion, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Rulon's name sent to the Ronald McDonald House, 1135 E. So. Temple, SLC, Ut. 84102, or any charity of choice, would be greatly appreciated.
