Surnames: Bunderson, Spiers, Rawson Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADI/1589 Message Board Post: Idaho State Journal, 12/26/05 ST. CHARLES, Idaho — Reva Spiers Bunderson, 79, loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s disease on Dec. 23, 2005, at Ashley Manner in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born March 4, 1926, in Logan, Utah, to Edwin and Clarissa Elizabeth Rawson Spiers. She married Elzo F. Bunderson of St. Charles, Idaho, on Aug. 1, 1946, in the Logan LDS Temple. Reva was born in the Spiers’ home in Logan and was happily received by six sisters and five brothers. She spent her childhood in Logan and during the summer months along with the rest of her family, spent time at Tony Grove in Logan Canyon while her father operated the family’s sheep ranch. While there, she spent time playing amongst the pine trees, streams and enjoyed climbing hills. Reva was schooled in Cache Valley, graduating from Logan High School and LDS Seminary in May 1945. After graduation she took employment at the telephone company as a phone operator, during Wold War II. Through an acquaintance, Reva met her future eternal companion, Elzo Bunderson, and the two of them were married and settled in the Bear Lake Valley at St. Charles. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions in the ward and stake, including primary presidency, young women, relief society, and especially loved doing genealogy. In their later life, Reva and Elzo fulfilled a calling for two years at the Logan Temple. Reva fulfilled her life long dream of owning her own business, after she and Elzo built, owned and operated Bundy’s Drive-Inn for 23 years. During that time she earned the reputation for her famous raspberry shakes and the “Bundy’s Special,” which was known throughout the Bear Lake Valley and beyond. One would often find Reva outside the business socializing, befriending and taking pictures of customers who came from all walks of life. Those visits were commonly followed up with a gesture of a free ice cream cone. Reva had many positive attributes but above all she dedicated her life to helping raise her five children and was a devoted grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Diana Hansen (Brent), McCammon, ID; Judy Peel (Robert), Fremont, Calif; sons, Brent (Karen), Pocatello, Idaho; Danny (Cindy), Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Jon (Cindy) of Soda Springs, Idaho; one sister, Helen Peterson, Kaysville, Utah; 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grand children.
