He was born on March 4, 1916, in Liberty, Idaho, to Joseph Manassah and Emma Jane Lyon Hymas. On Oct. 4, 1939, he married Afton Lanora Cook in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Following their marriage they chose to raise their family on the dairy farm in Liberty. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as counselor in the ward bishopric, bishop for 10 years, stake Sunday school president, ward financial clerk, Scout master, YMMIA president and elder’s quorum president. He enjoyed his grandchildren, riding the four-wheeler, carpentry and attending dairy shows and sales. Marvin is survived by five children, Glade (Judy) Hymas of Liberty, Dennis (Janis) Hymas of Farmington, Utah, Steven (Carole) Hymas of North Salt Lake, Utah, Dale (Sally) Hymas of Liberty and Dorene Hymas of Logan, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, his parents, six sisters, one brother and one grandson. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 30 at noon in the Liberty LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with family at Matthews Mortuary on Sunday evening, Jan. 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and on Monday morning at the church in Liberty from 10 to 11:45 a.m. The interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.

Spencer (Olga Johanna Reinhold) died January 23, 2006, in the Logan Regional Hospital surrounded by members of her loving family. Jean was born to Martha and Rudolf Reinhold February 26, 1911, in Annaberg, Saxony, Germany. She and her sister, Gertrude, immigrated to the United States in 1926. She resided in New York until moving to Bear Lake, Idaho, in 1934. Jean married Thomas Horsley Spencer on January 23, 1933, in Gloversville, New York. He preceded her in death in 1973. They were sealed in the Salt Lake temple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. She fulfilled many callings in the church during her lifetime, and was an avid temple attender. Jean was appointed postmaster of Dingle, Idaho, in 1945, and served until 1979, for a total of 34 years, the longest duration of any Dingle postmaster. She had resided in Logan since her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with members of her family and returned to her homeland of Germany twice. Surviving are her six children, James (Dorothy) Spencer, South Ogden, Utah, Arlene (Edward) Hanson, Fruit Heights, Utah, Thomas (Carol) Spencer, Orem, Utah, Elaine (Jonathan) Daines, Nibley, Utah, Dennis (Renee) Spencer, Pocatello, Idaho, Fay (James) Roberts, Gladewater, Texas; 32 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and six greatgreat-grandchildren; and her brother, Ralph Reinhold, Salt Lake City, Utah. Preceding her in death were her husband, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one greatgreat-grandchild, her parents, three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006, at the Logan 18th Ward Chapel, 502 East 300 North in Logan. Friends and family may call Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Fontella was born to George and Sarah Passey February 1, 1914 in Thayne, Wyoming (Formerly of Bear Lake County). She married Merlyn D. Kunz, November 18, 1939, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 9, 1971. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions over the years. The gospel and her family were always important to her. She loved the chaos of everyone getting together. Fontella was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Shasta Club. She loved to quilt, crochet, knit, tat, make ceramics, and cook. She was the baker at the State Hospital. After she retired, she and her husband spent the next five winters in Mexico, catching and bottling tuna. She had a great sen! se of humor and loved everyone. \ She is survived by her three children: Myrna (Richard) Galloway of Afton, WY; DeeOrr (Sherry) Kunz of Buena Park, CA; and Barbara (Wes) McKnight of West Valley City, UT; 18 grandchildren, and 34 great-grand-children. She was born September 27, 1930, in Bennington, Idaho, a daughter of Oliver Wendell Holmes and Janette Hall Holmes. She was raised in Montpelier where she attended public schools. On June 9, 1949, Eldene married Merlin J. Hymas in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They later moved to Coeur d'Alene, ID where they lived for 18 years. After living in various places around Idaho, they eventually settled in Pleasant View, UT. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various callings throughout her lifetime and served three missions. Eldene was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She volunteered for many years for the Red Cross. She had a great love of reading and especially enjoyed reading the scriptures. Eldene was a world traveler, but most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Eldene was a compassionate person who always helped others in need. Surviving are her husband of Pleasant View, UT; her children, Shauna Lee (George Sr.) Besaw, Lewiston, ID; Michael J (Kate) Hymas, Boise, ID; Merlene (David) Neilson, Pleasant View, UT; Richard Verl (Sandy) Hymas, Boise, ID; 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Carloss Holmes, William W. Holmes, Ferris Holmes, Arlene Peterson and Mary Kaye Poulson. Preceding Eldene in death were her parents, six siblings, a daughter-in-law and two great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 2, 1915, in Etna, Wyo., to Arthur Raymond Clark and Ida Emma Weber Clark, she was the eighth child in a family of 10 children. When in 1918 a flu epidemic hit Star Valley, Wyo., she was preceded in death by her mother and two baby brothers, all within one week. After the passing of her mother, a wonderful woman named Annie Weber came to help with the Clarks’ eight young children. Two years later her dad married Annie, who brought five more children to the table, and they raised this loving, hard-working farm family together. She attended schools in her youth in Star Valley and Logan. After graduation from Utah State University, she served a 22-month mission to the Texas-Louisiana Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later in life she served two more missions, one to New York with her husband, Ray, and another at the Atlanta Georgia LDS Temple with her sister, Alta. She also served as a temple officiator for 7 1/2 years and worked tirelessly as a temple worker both in St. George, where she spent several winters, and in the Logan LDS Temple, where she often traveled from Bear Lake; she stayed during the week in order to be able to serve fully. Wanda married Ernest Howell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they made their home in Fish Haven, Idaho, where they adopted a daughter, Dorothy. Ernest died after eight years of marriage and Wanda went to work in the Logan LDS Temple as the secretary to the temple president, ElRay L. Christiansen. After returning to Fish Haven, she met her future husband, Ray Stock, whom she married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1953. To this union was born two sons, Clark and Barry. Barry preceded her in death as an infant. Wanda influenced the lives of hundreds of schoolchildren as she taught elementary school for most of her life. She was a lifelong church worker and filled innumerable church callings. A shining example of Christ-like service, she was an extraordinary and tireless caregiver and was not happy unless she was serving someone. In addition to being a fabulous cook and homemaker, she loved her garden and got great satisfaction from sharing her plentiful produce with family, friends and neighbors. She loved being a mother and grandmother and her son, Clark, and grandchildren, Scan and Corey, were the love of her life. Wanda is survived by her son, Clark (Linda) Stock of Fish Haven; daughter, Dorothy Gerber of Logan; two stepdaughters, Connie (Alan) Francom of Salt Lake City and Mary Ann (Larry) Jaussi of Hurricane, Utah; a stepbrother, Mondale (Beth) Weber of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ernest Howell and Ray Stock; her infant son, Barry; stepdaughter, Colleen (Arlen) Wilkes of St. Charles, Idaho; brothers, Wilford, Walter, Byron and Gerald Clark; sisters, Hilda White, Hazel Jacobson, Florence Clark, Neva Humphreys and Alta Griffeth; stepbrothers, Eugene and Brian Weber; and stepsisters, Lorraine and Amy. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she has gone home to the arms of her family members who adore her and her loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born Oct. 20, 1920 in St.Charles, Idaho to Sydney Pugmire and Forest Rich. On Dec. 31, 1941 he married Noma Lee Lamborn. They resided in Laketown, Utah where they raised their five children, Nancy, Dennis, Lorraine, Kelvin and Todd. He also had 13 grandchildren and was an important part of their lives as they all lived nearby growing up. His 17 great-grandchildren also brought him much joy. Dean was a miner and farmer/rancher who enjoyed being outdoors, especially in the autumn and during the deer hunt. He took great pride in his growing family and loved having them near. He touched many with his beautiful singing voice and will be missed by all, especially his son and best buddy, Todd. He is preceded in death by his wife, Noma Lee; his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth; and his four brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at the Laketown LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Laketown church and from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Friday. She was the oldest of three children born to Oliver Cromwell Howell and Ester Elnora Lundburg. Edna was raised in the family home located in Logan, Utah. She received her education in the Logan City Elementary and Logan High School. After graduation from high school, she went to work as a bookkeeper for the Lundburg Motor Company in Logan. During this time, she assisted her father in handling the business accounts and transactions for this business owned by her uncle Chub Lundberg (Wilford W. Lundberg). It was during this time that she became acquainted with a young returned missionary by the name of LeRoy Forsberg from Avon, Utah. After a pleasant courtship they were married on Aug. 1, 1935 in the Logan Temple. During the first five years of their married life, they lived in Avon in the home referred to then as the Frank Rock home. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the family home on the Forsberg farm located a mile west across the Little Bear River in West Canyon. It was here that Roy and Edna raised their family of four boys and one girl. It was also here that many wonderful family memories were developed as they worked, played and prayed together. During the 50-plus years Edna and Roy lived on the farm in Avon, Edna took employment outside the home to help meet the financial obligations of running the farm and raising a family. A few of those businesses she worked for include: Bushnell Military Hospital in Brigham City, Tingwall’s and Roskelley’s, and Syl’s Business Machines in Logan. In 1963, Roy and Edna bought a farm and moved to Dingle, Idaho. They remained there until returning to Avon in 1973. Edna has been active in the church all her life. She has held many church positions. Her positions as chorister and choir leader in both the Avon and Paradise wards being her special callings, due to her love of music. Roy and Edna experienced a wonderful married life together. After Roy’s death Edna remained on and directed the affairs of the farm. She was a wonderful cook, a loving mother and has spent many hours of her life caring for and serving others. She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Denzil Kay Forsberg; her parents; one sister, Maye Howell Thomas; and one brother, Jay Carl Howell. She is survived by her three sons, Wilford LeRoy (Sherrie) Forsberg, serving an LDS mission in Tonga, South Pacific, Gene Ernest (Gayle) Forsberg, Lynden Clell (Linda) Forsberg; and one daughter, Carlene (Lynnis) Parkinson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at the Paradise 2nd/3rd Ward Chapel, 9060 S. 200 West. Lucile preceded him in death on April 29, 1996. He lived in Wyoming for seven years, Montpelier, ID for 11 years and in Ogden for the past 72 years. Oliver was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings throughout his life, He worked at Shupe Williams Candy Company and at Continental Baking Company as the plant engineer. Surviving are three sons, Oliver J. Larson, Ogden, UT; Gregory M. Larson, Spokane, WA; Bradner A. Larson, Ogden, UT; seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Gladys Duncan and two brothers, Jack and Len Larson. He was born April 10, 1930, to Elton Nye and Daisy Jarvis Bunn and was raised in Montpelier, Idaho. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1948. He joined the Army in 1948, and later served an LDS mission in the Samoan Islands. There he made many lifelong friends among the companions that he served with. He married Connie Jean Phillips of Dayton, Idaho, on July 11, 1956, in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City, Boise, Idaho, and Smithfield, before making their home of 45 years in Richmond. He was employed by Lynn Wilson Foods, Rex Distributing and Turner Candy Co. He was a member of the City Creek LDS Ward in the Richmond Utah Stake. He served in many church positions, including Young Men’s president, stake Sunday school president and on the high council. His favorite calling was serving as a faithful home teacher. His favorite hobby was his good horses. How he loved to ride in the mountains and made countless pack trips to the Wind River Mountains with brothers and friends. He judged many horse shows and queen contests. In his later years he built and sold bobsleighs. He was a member of the Lions Club and a committee member of the Richmond Black and White Days. He is survived by his wife, Connie of Richmond; children, Chad (Lorie) Bunn of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Jeanna (Kent) Frederick of North Ogden, Utah; four grandchildren, Elisha and McKella Bunn and Luke and Calee Frederick; two brothers, Max (Stella) Bunn of Pocatello, Idaho, and Harold (Marylou) Bunn of Montpelier, Idaho; two sisters, Ozma (George) Morrell of Stevensville, Mont., and ElMarie (Allen) Totten of Ogden; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bunn of Montpelier and Margaret Bunn of Kaysville, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Thalia Bunn; and two brothers, Tedd and Blair Bunn. His humor and wit will be missed by family and many, many friends. He was born on March 17, 1926, in Howe, Butte, Idaho, the son of Jens Nicholai and Marie (Gregersen) Wilde. He spent most of his early childhood days in and around the Idaho Falls and Shelley areas. After graduating from Shelley High School in 1944, he joined the Navy and was sent to the Pacific Theater, and received the Purple Heart after being injured when a Kamikaze Japanese pilot dove his airplane into the ship they were on. It was while attending school at Idaho State College that he met the love of his life, Patricia Joan Christopherson Garrard. They were later married on April 2, 1948, and from that union seven children were born. Pat retired from teaching in 1983, after 36 years in the education field. If he was not teaching, he was working for the Forest Service in many different capacities. It was while working for the Forest Service that he walked every trail in the Montpelier district of the Caribou National Forest, and was instrumental in establishing the “High Line Trail.” He served as president of the Rainbow Rod and Gun Club, secretary of the U.S. 5th District Wildlife Service, board member of the Bear Lake County Free Library and was instrumental in the reconstruction of the free library system in the county. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many different callings. As a journalist, Pat wrote for many of the local papers and published articles in several magazines. He had authored five history books and loved to share his knowledge with those who had an ear to listen. He started a long-running history program that still airs on the radio today. In 2000, Pat and Pat, as they were known, left their long-time Bear Lake Valley home and moved to Pocatello to be near the dialysis center. He loved the out-of-doors and spent many hours with family and friends. His second passion was cooking, and he could make a Dutch-oven sing. Pat was often found cooking for large numbers and gatherings including Scout groups, family reunions and anyone who had a “hankerin’” for good cooking. Pat is survived by his wife, Patty, of Pocatello; four daughters, Marcile Louise (Clark) Herron of Kalispell, Montana, Robinette Marie (Tim) Hirschi and Linda Elise (Ken) Yellen, both of Montpelier, Melany Ann (Kim) Wilcox of Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Alton Gale (Paula) of Rigby, Idaho, Lawrence Ray (Kathy) of Sandy, Utah, George Andrew (Dana) of Logan, Utah; 30 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born July 6, 1918, in Garfield, Utah, to Holgeer Marius Larsen and Rachel May Suhrke. He was the second of six children. He spent his youth in various cities in Utah and Oregon. He finished his high school education in Copenhagen, Denmark, while his father was serving as Danish Mission President for the LDS Church. The current Danish temple is housed in the chapel built by Holger Larsen. Howard also served a mission in Denmark. He was married to Dawna Stock in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Oct. 5, 1939, by John A. Widtsoe. He served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet during World War II. He worked for Utah Power for over 30 years. He started in Salt Lake City and went to American Fork, Utah, and Montpelier, Ashton and St. Anthony, Idaho, where he retired as district manager due to ill health and an old war injury. He was involved in many community activities, serving as mayor of Ashton, and president of the Chamber of Commerce in St. Anthony. He was also a member of the Lions and Rotary Clubs. Howard was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings including being a temple worker in the St. George LDS Temple. During his retirement in Fish Haven he extensively renovated the old Stock pioneer home that was originally built in 1864-1867. He and Dawna also raised iris, raspberries, fruits and vegetables in their many gardens. He and his wife, Dawna, raised four children, and she passed away on April 13, 2005. Since her death he had been residing in Rupert, Idaho, with his daughter, Kathleen Holbrook. Howard is survived by two brothers, Melvin, of Salt Lake City, and John, of American Falls; four children, Howard Joseph (LeAnne) Larsen of Fish Haven, Kathleen (Clifford) Holbrook of Rupert, Idaho, Margery (Jack) Ruch of Bloomington, Illinois, and Bethanne (Gregory) Allen of Verona, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. in the St. Charles LDS Chapel in St. Charles, Idaho. Friends may visit with family at Matthews Mortuary, 702 Clay St., on Friday evening, Jan. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church in St. Charles from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. The interment will be in the Fish Haven Cemetery.

Teuscher, 86, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Logan.He was born July 2, 1919, in Geneva, Idaho, to Rosetta Messerli and Robert H. Teuscher. Most of his youth was spent in Geneva. He also lived in Wabuska, Nev., and Smithfield. He came to Logan in 1942 to work on the construction of the airport. At this time, he met and married Gladys Pitcher on May 5, 1942, in Preston. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They had three children as part of their marriage, Stephen (Carol, deceased) of Smithfield, Scott (LaDawn) of Roy, Utah, and Loye Parker of Logan. After being married, they went to Delta, Utah, where he worked at the Topaz Internment Camp. Later, they moved to Ogden, where he worked at the 2nd Street Depot as a guard during World War II. They moved back to Smithfield, where he became employed by Utah Power and Light. While working for Utah Power and Light, he lived in Preston and Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, before moving back to Smithfield. He retired from Utah Power and Light after 36 years of service. This was an accomplishment of which he was very proud. He was a high priest and active member of the Smithfield 1st Ward and served in many capacities.He was a member of the Smithfield Lions Club, where he served as president and was “Lion of the Year.” He belonged to the Good Sam’s Club and one of his most enjoyable accomplishments was serving on the Blue Sox Baseball Team Board of Directors, where he also served as president. After retirement, he and his wife spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed traveling. Among his hobbies were fishing and golfing. He really enjoyed participating in his hobbies with friends and family. He was very proud of all his grandchildren’s accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, one sister, three brothers and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two brothers; one sister; two sons; one daughter; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Smithfield 1st Ward chapel, 175 S. 100 West. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main, Smithfield, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. A member of the Church of Latterday Saints, she served as Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout leader and Relief Society president. Raised on a sheep ranch, her love for animals was only surpassed by her love and giving to family and friends. A valedictorian of Georgetown High School in 1948, she was a cheerleader and rodeo queen as well. She worked as a waitress for a short time, then at Walton Feed in Montpelier, Idaho, for over 20 years, where she made many friends from the farms and ranches in the tri-state area. She is survived by her husband, Lewis R. Young Jr.; daughter, Patricia D. Bronson (Claude); and son, Lewis R. Young III (Lesa); also six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Jan. 19, at noon in the Georgetown LDS Chapel. LaRocco MONTPELIER — Cecil Cook LaRocco, 84, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006, in the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born August 31, 1921, in Dingle, Idaho, to Joseph Edward and May Cook LaRocco. He married Lula Dimick June 17, 1946, in Paris, Idaho. Cecil loved living in Bear Lake. He was happiest when he had a fishing pole in his hand. As a young man he enjoyed ranching and farming. After marriage he worked a short time for the Union Pacific Railroad in Green River, Wyo. He and Lula both missed their family and friends very much, and returned to Bear Lake. He then went to work for Stauffer Chemical Co. After working for them for 30 years, he retired in January 1982. Cecil attended school at Dingle and Montpelier High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Force August 18, 1942. On Feb. 15, 1943, he boarded the Queen Mary. He was on the ship 42 days with 44,000 troops plus doctors and nurses. He then spent a year in the Middle East and North Africa. He the spent the next two years in Italy and surrounding countries. He was honorably discharged Oct. 24, 1945. Cecil is survived by his wife, Lula; a daughter, Faye LaRocco-Sharpe; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Natalie Sharpe; two great-grandsons, Travis Harlan and Jacob Hanover, all of Montpelier; one brother, Nello LaRocco of Montpelier; and one sister, Joy (Scott) Tueller of Bountiful, Utah; two sisters-in-law, Adell Dimick Black and Ruth Dimick Kirby; a brother-in-law, Orval (Helen) Dimick of Bancroft, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel in Montpelier, where friends may visit with family that morning from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The interment will be in the Wardboro Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.

She was surrounded by loved ones as she passed away. She was born on March 16, 1945, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Taft Passey and Jean Price Budge. She was raised in Paris, Idaho, in the Bear Lake Valley, where she graduated from Fielding High School. Then she went on to nursing school at Ricks College, where she earned her R.N. nursing degree. While in Rexburg attending Ricks College, she met Byron Sayer, and they were married in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on December 28, 1966. Byron and Mary have five children, Blaine (Robin) Sayer of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marianne (Paul) Lanier of Leslie, Idaho, Aaron (Kirsty) Sayer of Bowling Green, Ohio, Jeremy (Heather) Sayer of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Joshua (Christina) Sayer of Moore, Idaho. Mary worked full-time at Lost Rivers Hospital after moving to the Lost River Valley from Mountain Home, Idaho in 1976, until she was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2005. She also worked in Mountain Home Hospital prior to moving from there. She was a nurse for over 37 years. In her spare time, she worked with her devoted husband, delivering mail, farming and raising five children. Mary served in several callings in the LDS Church which she loved, from nursery leader to Relief Society president. Mary loved her husband, children and 15 grandchildren, who knew her as Mom, Grammy, Grammer and Ga-ma. he was preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Budge, and her parents. She is survived by her husband; five children; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, (Richard (wife Ann), Neil (wife Jan), Mark (wife LuAnn); and three sisters, (Ione (husband Kent), Margaret (husband Richard), and Ann (husband Charles)). A viewing will be held at Hawker Lost River Funeral Home at 345 Sunset Drive, in Arco, Idaho, on Friday, January 13, 2006, from 6:30 till 9 p.m. for family and friends. The funeral will be conducted at the Moore, Idaho LDS Stake Center on Saturday, January 14, 2006, at 11 a.m., with a viewing one hour before the funeral. Internment will be in the Mt. She graduated from Granite High School and attended LDS Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Alvin Bennion, September 15, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 35 happy years together before Alvin died June 21, 1977. Ruth worked as a legal secretary for many years, having been employed by the Utah Department of Public Safety and the Utah Supreme Court. She retired in 1983 and enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing, reading, and working in her yard. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her "Senior Friends." She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various positions during her lifetime. She treasured the times spent with her children and grandchildren, especially the Sunday dinners and holidays. She is survived by her son, Brent Bennion; daughters, Shauna Bennion and Lauri (Ray) Kelley; grandchildren, Robert Herrera, Michelle Herrera, Jayson Bern, Jaynee Herrera, Andrew Weeks, and Heather Kelley. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Schiffgen; and her son-in-law, Eloy Herrera. She is preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. She taught first grade at South Clearfield Elementary School for many years. She loved and encourged her students to "be the best they could be." Each and every child learned to read brfore finishing her first grade class. Mother was kind, courageous and loving to all. She was not judgemental --she was very accepting and loved people the way they were. Surviving are her three children: Laurie, Layton, UT, Chuck (Erma), Clearfield, UT; Bruce (Pam), Layton, UT; eight grandchildren; and a brother, David L. (Donna) Berrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dale, and eight brothers and sisters. Walt was born January 20, 1937, in Boise, Idaho, and was adopted by Walter Oliver and Elizabeth Bailey Rhodes. He was raised and educated in Pocatello, graduating from Pocatello High School. He married Marcia Estes on May 21, 1962. They had two children, Stanton Dean (Teresa) Rhodes of Blackfoot and Deborah Ann (Danny) Bone of Golden Valley, Arizona. They were later divorced. He married JoAnn Lloyd on May 5, 1972, in Elko, Nevada. There were no children, but they had three dearly loved pets. Walt worked construction, was a fireman for the Union Pacific Railroad for nine years, was employed by the State Highway Department, Caribou County Sheriff’s Department as a county deputy, and retired with the Caribou County Road and Bridge Department. In his earlier days he was a rodeo participant and loved going to rodeos. He was a member of the Army Reserves and was very active in the National Search and Rescue organization, serving many officer positions, including national commander in 1993. He was a member of the Bear Lake Search and Rescue. He loved going camping, hunting, fishing, doing leatherwork and woodworking. He enjoyed going to the Caribou County Senior Center and was a volunteer there. He was a member of the Soda Springs LDS First Ward. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of Soda Springs; a son, Stanton Dean (Teresa) Rhodes of Blackfoot; and his daughter, Deborah Ann (Danny) Bone of Golden Valley, Arizona; a sister, Helen Lindstrom of Wayan, Idaho; four granddaughters; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
