I have many newspaper references about C V. Smith. He leased a saloon from brewer Jacob Ulrich in Rocky Bar ID for a while. 1884 polling was at his saloon in Atlanta. He and John Henry Casey filed on the Old Chunk mine in 1892 nad made a major strike in winter 1900-01. 1901 made silver strike at Webfoot mine. 1907 another major strike at the Old Chunk. 1892 Cy had his family in Boise because of a house fire in Rocky Bar.
