I have just begun to research my great grandmother's family and need help. My G-Grandmother was Amanda Ellen Prewett. I don't know her birthplace, but her father, Esau Prewett was born in Indiana in 1836. Esau settled in Parkersburg (Riverton) Oregon in 1875 and married Sarah E. Archer. Their children were: Cornelia, Nancy, Mary, Martha, Thomas, Amanda, May E. D. (?), Lillie G., Rosilla E. B. As a child I remember my great aunts and uncles talking about "old Rupe", but don't remember what they said...and my g-grandma Amanda named her first son "Ancil". She married my great grandfather, William Wirt Kight and settled on his father's ranch a few miles away. They had eight children: Ancil Clyde, Lola Esther, Ellis Roy (my grandfather),Jewel, Lorena Mae, Grace, & Perna (Bunce) Ione
