Hello. I wanted to let everyone know that the Idaho Death Index from 1911 through 1950 has been posted to Idaho's section of the USGENWEB project. The Idaho State Historical Society - Gene Lib has death certs on microfilm through approximately 1937. After that, they must be ordered through the Dept of Health & Welfare (www.state.id.us). (Before 1911, they can be found at the county level--if they were kept at all. The ISHS also has nearly every Idaho newspaper on microfilm and complete indexes to Idaho Fed census records (excluding 1930--they have the records, but no index yet). Therefore, if anyone finds a death record and would like a copy (1937 or earlier) or other info such as obits, census, please contact me and I will be glad to do a look up for you. Also, the ISHS has shelf space assigned to each Idaho county with a variety of information--depending on the county. Some have marriage, cemetery, etc records as well as city directories for the larger towns. So, when I do a search for someone, I check all available info. Note: I do not charge for my research, but ask that a donation in whatever amount you feel is appropriate, be made to the ISHS Gene Lib - Collection Development. Happy Hunting!
