The sons of the original couple all dropped the extra 'h' at some point, not long after emigration. I have an idea that William F. BUCHOLZ may have ended up in Idaho. There is one listed as a resident in that state for 1910, but I don't know if he is 'my' William F. He was born about 1869 in New York city, shortly after his parents (Gottlieb & Caroline) emigrated to there from Berlin, Prussia with his 4 Prussian-born siblings. The family moved a few years later, to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where they had 3 more sons and raised the total of 7 sons and 1 daughter. Names: Herman, Labrecht (Labbey), Bertha Mathilda Charlotte, Albert A., William F. (of course), Henry, Charles L. (Charlie) and Frank H. All the sons were involved in the building trades; several carpenters, a house painter and a house-building contractor, all in the Ann Arbor area. William F. disappeared, along with his wife Sarah A. MOORE, [who was orginally from Indiana] and daughter of P. MOORE and Sarah MAYNES, also from Indiana. Their wedding took place in Ann Arbor in 1892 when both were 23 years old, and I can't find further records of them. It is unknown if there were children of this marriage and uncertain where they went from Ann Arbor. I'm hopeful a descendant of this couple in Idaho will read this and respond.
