    1. [IDADA] [EXTERNAL] JOHNSON - WOOD - COALE - VANDERGRIFT - AMES - NEWKIRK Family Photograph Album
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old Photograph Album containing photographs from the JOHNSON Family of Minnesota including identified photographs of: Theodore JOHNSON and his wife - St. Paul, MN Great Great Grandmother Karl & Anna JOHNSON "Dad's Brother" Five JOHNSON children including Floyd, George, Arnold, Edith, and Roland Five JOHNSON children as adults with Mother Floyd & Edith JOHNSON dated 1914 in Sturgeon Lake, MN Floyd & George JOHNSON dated 1914 in Sturgeon Lake, MN Dad's sister Euglena in Sweden Prayer Card and Obit for George T. JOHNSON b. 9 Aug 1910 in Sturgeon Lake, MN to parents Anna and Charles JOHNSON, married to Martha SUISTE in Reno, NV and moved to Weiser, ID in 1948 where he purchased his farm. His daughter is identified as Zetta J. WOOD (husband - James K. WOOD) and grandchildren, Vickie COALE; Gary WOOD; Tammy VANDERGRIFT; Sandie AMES; John WOOD; and Theresa NEWKIRK all of Boise, ID. He is also survived by a niece Marcella GUAY of Maple Valley, WA. The album includes a total of 39 photographs including both portraits and snap shots + printed copies of some of the portraits along with the prayer card and obituary for George. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding the family: Theodore JOHNSON was b. 1876 and died 1940 and is buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Rock Creek, MN. Anna JOHNSON was b. 9 May 1881 and died 24 Sept 1943 and is buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Rock Creek, MN. Floyd, George, Arnold, Edith, and Roland JOHNSON are the children of Charley E. JOHNSON (1866-1919) and Anna NELSON (b. 1886). Floyd Eberhard or Aberhard JOHNSON (1909-1985); George Theodore JOHNSON (b. 1910); Arnold R. JOHNSON (b. 1912); Edith Elizabeth JOHNSON (b. 7 Sept 1913 in Pine, MN); Roland Fridolph or Fredolph JOHNSON (1914-1979); and then the six child, Gordon Clifford JOHNSON (1918-1918). I did find burials which may be a match to Charles and Anna, though details are slightly different: Charles O. JOHNSON b. 20 Apr 1962 in USA and died 16 Jul 1916 in Pine Co., MN and buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Rock Creek, MN. His wife Anna C. JOHNSON was b. 1 Jun 1963 in the USA and died 22 Nov 1958 in Pine Co., MN and is buried with Charles in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Floyd Aberhard or Eberhard JOHNSON was born 4 Apr 1909 in Cloquet or Pine, MN and he married Loretta M. LESTER (b. 1912). Floyd died 16 Jul 1985 in Renton, WA. George T. JOHNSON was b. 9 Aug 1910 and died 16 Jun 1995 and is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, ID. Edith Elizabeth JOHNSON married Lloyd Elwood SCHAUER (1908-2002) and they had a daughter, Marjorie Ann SCHAUER (1930-2002). Roland Fredolph JOHNSON was b. 12 Sept 1914 in Pine, MN and married Margaret Ione BOWERS (1918-2008) and he died 17 Feb 1979 in Clarissa, MN. Martha Helen SUISTE was b. 25 Nov 1910 in Butter Creek, OR to parents Joseph Napoleon SUISTE (1864-1925) and Wilhelmina Josephine FIX (1870-1935). Martha was one of 12 children born to this couple including, Louis Henry; Andrew Joseph; Lucia or Lucille Cecelia; Rose Louisa; Leo Anthony; Agnes Elizabeth; Albert Lawrence; Emily Regina; Martha Helen; Mary Patricia; Esther Ann or Anna; and Edwin Francis SUISTE, all born between 1899 and 1914. Martha married George T. JOHNSON (1910-1995) on 14 Sept 1941. It appears that Martha was previously married to Neil Orven POSTON (1907-1993). Martha died 20 Sept 1999 in Boise, ID and is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, ID. George and Martha had a daughter, Zetta Janet JOHNSON b. 27 Sept 1936 in Leadville, CO. Zetta married James K. WOOD in 1957 and together they had 6 children. Zetta died 2 Jan 2017 in Boise, ID and is buried in the Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, ID. Since Zetta's birthdate is prior to their marriage I am not sure of her parentage, could she be Martha's daughter from previous marriage, or George's from a previous marriage, or an adoption, or something else. I am hoping to return the album to family and would appreciate you contacting me at your earliest convenience regarding this family and the album. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [IDADA] CALKINS - ALLINGTON - FRENCH Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of William W. CALKINS which appears to have been taken in the 1870's. William appears to be in his teens or 20's at the time it was taken. An obituary is attached on the back which indicates that William died 26 Oct 1884 of consumption at the age of 32. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding William and his family: William W. CALKINS was b. abt 1852 in Illinois the son of Isaac Gurnsey CALKINS (1825-1902) and Ann Martin BRIGGS (b. 1827). William was one of 4 children born to this couple including, William W.; Elmina G. "Jennie" ALLINGTON (1861-1935) and had a son, Gurnsey Allington CALKINS (1884-1950). William died 26 Oct 1884 in Boise, ID and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Boise. After his death his son Gurnsey was adopted by his step-father Daniel FRENCH. Gurnsey died in 1950 and is also buried in the same cemetery as his father William. Census records provide the following details: 1860 census of Western, IL: Isaac G. CALKINS, age 35, a Farmer Anna CALKINS, wife, age 33 William CALKINS, age 8 A. CALKINS, age 6 Charles CALKINS, age 7 months Mary GORDIN, age 18 1870 census of Chicago, IL: Isaac G. CALKINS, age 44, an Agent, born NY Anna M. They didn't start using death records until 1911 and they're considered confidential until 50 years after the event. Some miscellanous records might be on file in some counties but nothing as old as 1860's and 1870's. Ada didn't become a county until 1864. You can follow the person in Census records until they "disappear" and then look for their death notice in the local newspaper. Also I do a Google search for County Name, State Cemeteries and look for the person in the indexed cemeteries. Successful Searching! 1. [IDADA] LEES Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel via
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph labeled with the name of Mrs. J. B. LESS (believe correct spelling should be LEES) of Boise, Idaho. The photograph was taken in the 1890's or early 1900's and is of a young boy about 4 years old. I believe it is a photograph of her son Essington LEES. Writing on the back of the photograph includes instructions for a color version of the photograph to be produced including all the specific coloring desired. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Essington and his family: Essington Arthur LEES was b. 11 Apr 1894 in Genesse, ID to parents James Baxter LEES (1863-1941) and Lucy Ann PECK (1869-1959). 3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Geraldine KRETCHMAR which was taken at the Farmer Studio in Roswell, NM. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Geraldine noted as 3 months old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Geraldine and her family: Geraldine KRETCHMAR was b. 12 Jun 1909 in Roswell, NM to parents Robert John KRETCHMAR (b. 5 Feb 1875 in Quincy, IL) and Margaret E.
