Answering Gerre Engard Byrd's questions: I graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1979. I lived in Fort Dodge from 1975-1981 and then since April 1996 (still there). My maiden name was Snyder. My mom's family (Burrell) is the family that has been here since 1880. More info: My grandfather, Arthur Francis Burrell, was born in Fort Dodge in 1910. He was one of 10 children of Walter and Augusta Burrell. Some members of his family (including him) moved to Chicago, where he met my grandmother, Florence Evelyn Korn. My mom and her sisters were all born in Chicago, but the family moved back to Fort Dodge in the 40's. They moved to Gowrie in the early 50's, I think. Next was Aurelia, near Cherokee. That's where my mom graduated high school. They moved back to Chicago around that time, I think. I guess I need to get more details from my mom, I'm working from memory (faulty!). Anyway, I was thrilled to find the family here in the 1880 census, especially since there was a son David listed with them that we had no record of.
