Hi, I am Cookie Welch (Abrams) originally from Fort Dodge, Iowa, now living in Maryland. I have hit a brick wall. Am looking for any information on the Dennis McCarthy family who came to Fort Dodge from Ireland in 1860. They settled and raised 11 children, the youngest being my maternial Grandmother Florence McCarthy who married John William Bradford. My Mom was Charlotte Bradford who married my Dad Clifford Lee Abrams. His Grandparents came from Ohio in 18?? David Jones Abrams. Does anyone have any information on these families? Does anyone know anything about wagon trains into that area around 1868? I do know that Dennis' 1st child was born in Boone Iowa in 1868. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am very excited to find a Site from my hometown area. Thanks.
