I am still looking for my grandparents LEE AUGUSTUS HAGEDORN married SARAH LEONA RUSSELL 1880? children Lee 1881, Will iam 1883, Lark 1887, Harry 1889, Sarah(Sadie)1891, Pearl 1894. and Daisy 1898 in FORT DODGE, WEBSTER COUNTY, IOWA What makes it so hard (besides the fact that I have just started on computer & genealogy this year) is Lee's parents brought him over from Germany sort of as a stow-a-way to avoid him having to fight in Prussian War at a very young age. I'm not sure if it was 12 yrs or not. Another thing that makes it hard is the mother died in 1898 and father about 2 yrs later and the children were sort of own their own. My Dad, Lark, made his way to Arkansas by train. Daisy was either raised by neighbors or adopted out. Harry is the other one that we know little about. Last we heard he was working on Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA. If anyone has any information on them I could sure use it, or if anyone has any suggestions about how to solve this let me know. I notice someone said something about a 1885 Iowa State census.
