    1. [IAWEBSTE] RHODES, SALZ in Iowa, 1890 to present
    2. Kevin Kelly
    3. Looking for other descendants of John Chester ("J.C.") RHODES and Margaret SALZ RHODES, my ggparents. John was a salesman for the Red Wing Company. He was born May 1856 in PA, and Margaret came from Germany (or Austria) in 1861 at the age of about 4. I believe they met in the Waterloo, IA area and probably moved to Red Oak after 1880, possibly as late as 1895. The lived for awhile in town in Red Oak, then on a farm outside of town. One of their grandsons told me that J.C. and Margaret are buried in Fort Dodge. They raised at least six children in Red Oak. The children were: Agnes (a.k.a. "Dot") RHODES REDMOND, b. Nov. 1884, IA Arthur RHODES, b. Nov. 1884, IA Leo RHODES, b. Nov. 1891, Dakota Territory Marie RHODES LEHR CARTER, b. Nov. 1893, Dakota Territory (Yankton) Merrill RHODES, b. July. 1896, Dakota Territory Margaret RHODES HEATH DOHE, b. July. 1897, IA There was also a daughter, Regina, who died at the age of 8 months. I have lots of well-preserved old pictures (from studios in Fort Dodge, Manson, and Waterloo), and some mementos from their daughter Margaret, who graduated in Red Oak, married, and moved to Waterloo and later to Omaha. Please contact me if you are related to or researching these people or their relatives or spouses, or if you have access to any information about them. Thanks, Kevin in Missouri kkelly@trib.net

    3. The following was sent by BONNIEJORDEN@aol.com, who is not subscribed to this list. It is not always safe to pass on information about living people to others. If by any chance you know of the people the poster is interested in, the best action would be to tell them Bonnie is looking for them and let them email her at BONNIEJORDEN@aol.com. And if this should result in a family reunion, do let this list know about it! http://lists.rootsweb.com - Information about subscribing to RootsWeb's mailing lists. http://resources.rootsweb.com/ - Links from here give information about adoptable mailing lists. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com - Find out what lists you are subscribed to. 1. [IAWEBSTE] needed: someone to adopt this list
    2. Carol Foltz
    3. Hi folks. I haven't posted to the list for awhile and we have some new people. I have lots of things going on in my personal life: college & full-time work in addition to raising 2 kids. Because of this, I am going to step down as list administrator. Before turning the list back over to Rootsweb, thereby adding to the responsibilities of someone who is probably already working very hard on many other things, I would like to give someone on the list the opportunity to take the list over. The duties are not arduous. This list is still small and we don't post often. A list administrator might want to work on that, encouraging people to post periodically because people join often. However, there are lists with hundreds of members who receive many emails daily. This is not the case with this list. If you have any questions about running a list, you can check out some information on Rootsweb's website at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help/listutil.html and the listowner's responsibilities are laid out at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help/responsb.html. I will wait a few days to allow people to think this over. If noone wants to take over the list, I will let Rootsweb know and they will have someone take it over. I'm going to stay subscribed to the list and perhaps I'll have more time to actually post to it from time to time. If you are interested or just have questions, email me at caysedai@yahoo.com and I'll try to respond back quickly. Thanks for your patience with this long email. Have a nice day.
