    2. Terry Davis
    3. Christina, I can't help you with what you are searching for but I would like to share what I have. It sounds like you may have Bohemian names. There are Stanek's in Tama County, well known Bohemian settlement and just north of Webster County is Pocahontas, a place of another Bohemian settlement with the Hronek's being among the earliest settlers. There was a Catholic priest, Father Urban, that served the Pocahontas community. In Tama I have an Anna STANEK, b. 1829/1830 in Bohemia, d. 12 Feb 1917 in Tama co. She married John PRUSHA. The only children I have for her are Joseph PRUSHA, b. 1857 in IA and Fred PRUSHA. Anna is the daughter of Albert STANEK and Anna Dvorak. Couldn't help but notice how close Fronek is to Hronek. Best to you in your research, Terry

    1. [IAWEBSTE] (no subject)
    2. I went a genealogy society meeting tonight and got info on a new FREE Internet site. The address is: fotocode.com It is only for black and white photos taken before 1910. The reason for this cutoff date is that is the year that Kodak came out with a cheap camera and people started taking their own pics instead of going to a studio where they could get many pics for very little money and could hand them out to friends and family You answer a bunch of questions about the photo and it goes into their data bank. When someone else gives the same description they pull up the pics and compare them. If they have a match they tell the two senders. The reason for this is there a lot of photos without any names on them. If we both had the same pic with 4 people and we each only knew the name for two of them we would then have the names for all four. this outfit is just starting so there is not a lot pics in the system yet. I am going to do a lot of my pics. It's FREE FREE!!! They will NOT run banner ads, and will not use the pic's for anything but the purpose I just discribed. Aloha Joe

    1. [IAWEBSTE] KOLB-WEISS in Ft Dodge area
    2. In addition to my Gunther/GUENTHER line in the Ft. Dodge area, I am also looking for information on the KOLB and WEISS families. At first I didn't think my WEISS' made it to Ft.Dodge, but I believe they may have, along with the KOLBs. Traugott Wilhelm KOLB was b: Sep 1, 1814 in Goldlauter, Sachsen, Prussia (Formerly in SW part of East Germany) and d: Apr 13, 1895 in Badger Township, Webster Co., IA He was married to Aurelie Phillippine HEYM in 1841 in Goldlauter. He may have been known as William. He was the brother of Katharina Maria KOLB who married Gottgetreu WEISS, the father of my great grandmother Wilhelmina WEISS, who married F Justus Guenther (He died 1879 in Ft Dodge, she in 1917 Orange CA). I don't know where or when Wilhelmina's parents died, except that she came to the US with them around 1852. Since her Uncle Traugott KOLB also died in Ft Dodge, I assume the possibility that the entire family came to the Ft Dodge area. Any help? Thanks Gary Speck GTUSA@aol.com
