William Jackman was born in the Dunmore/Leapstown area of Co. Kilkenny, Ireland about 1837 and immigrated to the U.S. about 1850-1854, with his 2 brothers Patrick and Michael, and sister Mary Jackman Hines. William Jackman married Mary Casteline in Fort Dodge in 1863, and they settled on a farm in Palo Alto Co., Iowa and had 10 children - 6 boys: Charles, William, David, Michael, Robert and Allen, and 4 girls: Catherine Fowler/Main, Elizabeth Fallon/Litsey, Harriet Niewohrner (sp?), and Charlotte Campagna. In about 1890, William Jackman and family relocated to Clare, Webster Co., Iowa, near his sister Mary Jackman Hines and family. William Jackman died in 1894 and his wife Mary died in 1899 - both are buried in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Would like to learn more about this family - any Jackman descendants out there?

Attended school in Danville Indiana and later went to Universiy of West Virginia. He was school superintendent about 1900 in West Virginia. About 1902 he was School principal at Washington, Iowa until 1905. He came to Fort Dodge and was principal from 1905 until 1909. The following year he started his law practice in Fort Dodge.He was appointed circuit court Judge In 1935. IBelieve he is a brother of my Great Grandfather John Henry Thomas Who was born in Ohio. He had 13 Brothers and sisters. He married And had 3 Children migrated to the State of Washington and bought a farm in 1906 in Snohomish, Washington. He had a newspaper Article about Seths Appointment in his personel effects. I would like any information on Seths family and ancestors Thanks Don Stevens

Can not find death or burial records about 1880-81 for them. Can not find Coal Valley on any maps. A 2nd marriage for John to Theresa (Bruenger, Brunner, Burner?) may have taken place in Webster Co. Can't find.

I am originally from Fort Dodge, and part of my heart is still in Iowa I have written once before and asked for any information on the Denis McCarty family who settled in the Clare area in the 1860's. I am also searching for info on the Dennis McCarthy family who settled between Clare and Fort Dodge. Dennis McCarthy married Margaret McCarthy in Ackley Iowa. Their 1st son Felix was also born in Ackley and they moved to the Fort Dodge area about 1868. My Grandmother Florence McCarthy Bradford was the youngest of the eleven children.
