We have precious little information. My grandfather was Ferdinand Welke and married Bertha Welke (nee Schmidtke, later changed to Schmidt). They were from Poland. My grandfather, Ferdinand had two brothers, Gustav and Gotlieb. Ferdinand immigrated (1927) to Canada prior to World War Two and homesteaded in Tupper Creek, near Dawson Creek in the Peace River region of British Columbia, Canada. My grandmother, Bertha, arrived in Canada, from Augustenfeld (Muehlentalle), Poland in 1958. My father, also a Ferdinand, immigrated to Canada after WWI, in 1948. He is an only child.
