My great-grandparents were James Washington and Mary Ashkettle Woods. Both James and Mary were born in Armstrong Co, PA. James dates are 1838 - 1901 and Mary's 1844 - 1924. They moved to the Big Springs area of southwestern Wayne County about 1867. They are buried at the cemetery there along with several of their children. Harry Edson, James McDowell, and Roy. Children Clarence Ellsworth "Lon" Woods, William L. Woods, and Samuel W. Woods, and James McDowell's widow Beatrice Swan Woods ended up in the Sedgwick Co Kansas area. I have been working on genealogy for over 30 years and have a great collection of material and photos. However, I just don't find anyone ever researching this family.
