"1958 Stephen Morlan Rites Were Tuesday Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Centerville for Stephen morlan, 82, of Centerville, formerly of the Confidence [Wayne County] community. Mr. Morlan died Saturday, August 23. Born October 12, 1875 in Appanoose County, he was the son of M. J. and Emma Banks Morlan. he was married to Ruthella Lemley on June 15, 1904. they lived in the Confidence community until 1934 when they moved to Centerville. Mrs. morlan died June 29, 1958. Surviving are two sons, W. Flyod of Taylor Ridge, Ill.,Ray W. of Rock Island, Ill., threegrandchildren, one brother, L.L. Morlan of Englewood, Calif, and a sister Mrs. J.I. Freee of Russell. He was preceeded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. Burial was in Oakland cemetery in Centerville." "1958 Mrs. Steven Morlan Died in Centerville Mrs. Steven Morlan, 77, of Centerville, formerly of the Confidence community died Sunday, June 29 at the St. Joseph hospital where she had been a patient the past 5 weeks. In January 1951 she broke her hip and has been in poor health since that time. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist church in Centerville with rev. james Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville."
