Surnames: Ryun Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/5519/Cl.2ADI/146.2.2.2 Message Board Post: I am inquiring about the Ryun's. I would be the great-great-granddaughter of Ben Ryun, I think. Everything that I have so far matches up with everything you have all reasearched. I have Martha Elizabeth and Ben's children I think!! I just wanted to make sure that they were right. This is what I have: (not really sure about dates) Fred Ryun, Laura, Mildred, Nora, John Ryun, Molly, Rosa, Pansa, and Willa Mina Ryun, who married my great grand father Clem Hammond. I just need to know if this is the right information. My grandma does not really know too much past that, and has been wanting to get to Wayne Co., but sometimes it is hard. I am from Salina, Ks, and my grandma is from Abilene, Ks. I know that is were my grandfather and his father Clem Hammond is buried. I would really appreciate any conformation on this info. I have really enjoyed looking all of this history up. Especially the info that we can all share. Thanks!!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Cl.2ADI/146.2.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Several of the direct decendants of Benjaman Ryun have provided the information to me that his parents were Joseph and Elizabeth. In the 1820 census of Fayette County, Jefferson Township, Ohio, the family name is mispelled as "Rian." In that census, listed right together is Joseph, Sr. Benjaman, Meshack, Joseph, Jr. and a couple of the other brothers. Also the tax records for Fayette County list Joseph, Benjaman, Elizabeth, Joseph, Jr., Meshack, William, John. Elizabeth began being listed in the tax records after Joseph, Sr. died. Information on Joseph, Sr.'s partisipation in the Revolutionary War came from books about Washington County, Pennsylvania. Joseph, Sr. is listed as a member of a frontier unit. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

    3. My ancestor is buried in the Corydon Cemetary: Seth S. Wright , Sr. 1798-1882 G.A.R. his wife next to him: Nancy 1798-1858 his grandson Seth S. Wright 1846-1894 IOOF Seth was born in Vermont and settled in Ohio where his children and grandchildren were born. About 1850 they came to Corydon and settled. Seth the younger ran a clothing store in Corydon. Since Seth the elder has a GAR designation on his grave, I have been told that means he fought in the Civil War. Can someone help me to know which unit did he fit in? As he was in Corydon at the time of the War, I must imagine he fought with some Corydon-connected Unit. What were they? He was about 64 yrs when the war started, but I know many older men did fight. Anyone can help me? Thank you, Lillian Kathleen Martin

    1. MOORE FAMILY REUNION
    2. George May
    3. There will be a Moore Family Reunion held in Lineville, Iowa on June 1, 2002. The following is a message concerning this reunion: The Robert H. Moore Family has a private site for members of this family on MyFamily.com All on the site were invited to join and it orginially started out for only the above descendants. Now we also have descendants of Rbt. H. Moore's siblings as well on site. I know there are many Moore relatives in Wayne Co. and Decatur Co. who do not do genealogy, but are interested in attending a family reunion. The last Moore family reunion was held in 1986 hosted by R.D. Beavers and my father, Clair P. Moore. Both are now deceased and some of us on the R.H. Moore site are hosting the reunion in Lineville, IA June 1, 2002.
