Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Cl.2ADI/842.1 Message Board Post: Linda, I spent a week in Wayne Co. researching 2 yrs ago. As far as courthouse records, it depends on what you want to know. Land records are somewhat time consuming to research and you need to know something about them. But, they will tell you where your ancestors owned land. Also, probate records. In Wayne Co, the older probate records are in the genealogy library at the museum. If you haven't researched in Wayne Co., be sure to spend time both at the museum and city library. They have large collections of newspaper articles, obits, marriages, etc that are indexed by surname. I really enjoyed my visit there. The people are very friendly and helpful.

I have finally found the exact date of birth for my Great Grandmother Pearl Daphne Wright. She was born in Corydon, Wayne Co., IA. She was born: Dec. 15, 1880. Her mother was always called EMMA, but I am now worried that her real name was Emily, and that Emma was just a nick name. So I must find the real birth certif. Is there anyone who could visit the archives in Corydon and find this record and then email the names of her parents? Is this possible? Thanking you very kindly, Lillian Kathleen Martin Lattakia, Syria
