William Bascom HOUSTON, Byron T. HOUSTON married Gertrude SINCLAIR and Joseph Daniel HOUSTON. And 2 others that died. Dan HOUSTON had 6 grand children when he died in 1930. Castor, 81, long-time Wayne County resident who died Jan. 27, 1982 at the Corydon Rest home, where held at 1:30 last Friday at the Wolf Funeral Home with Rev. Gale Hawhee officiating. Pallbearers were Nile Castor, Dennis Peterson, Clement Davis, Chester Anderson, Marvin Rush and James Horton. Burial was to Corydon Cemetery. The son of Oscar and Ida Luce Castor, he was born in Clarke County, Aug. 21, 1900. He married Lua Olive Owen, Jan. 12, 1921 at her parent’s home with Rev. W. A. Morgan of Corydon officiating. They were engaged in farming until moving to Promise City where he built and operated a filling station for several years. He also did some trucking. After a few years he moved back to farm until retiring in Corydon where he enjoyed fishing, traveling and gardening. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Harold; a nephew, Junior Castor and twin great granddaughters. Surviving are his wife, Olive; daughter, Kay Francis and Husband Williard Flesher, Lorimor and their daughters, Shelley, Des Moines; Debbie Sue Peterson and husband, Dennis, Webster City and Michelle Flesher, Des Moines and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard Castor and wife, Madolyn and sisters-in-law, Mildred Castor and Genevieve Owen, as well as several nieces and nephews. - The Times Republican, Corydon, IA, 2 FEB 1982

    3. I am descended from Dr. Jeremiah Brower b. 1801 NY, who was a Masonic Leader and County Judge in Corydon. He died in 1875 and is buried in Lineville, Wayne Co., IA. His wife was Nancy Weaver Swindle. After he died Nancy and 13 children moved to La Grande, Union Co., OR where she died in 1901. Dr. Brower's daughter Emma married John E. Wright in 1880 in Corydon. He was the grandson of Seth S. Wright who is buried in Corydon. Effie Greenlee b. 1867 Corydon, married Edward Noble Middlebrook in 1886 at Corydon. Effie was the d/o Morris Greenlee, Jr. and Edward was the s/o Edward Robert Middlebrook. Both of these families were residents of Corydon.
