    3. While visiting Iowa last weekend I depleted my checking account when I found the State Historical Society was selling all their old copies of their magazine. I have started summarizing the 100+ magazines I bought on my web site: http://www.celtictree.com/Palimpsest.htm I guess this is not truly indexing - YET. It is a list of the table of contents of the magazines listed. I am going to need an OCR Scanner to start scanning these little booklets in (see the one i started on further down the page). I'll try and add about 10 magazines a night to this list. Hope this helps some of you. -joan hanlon

    1. Dr. Jeremiah Brower, Wayne Co. Judge
    2. Lilly
    3. I am researching Dr Jeremiah Brower 1801-1875, he is buried in Lineville, Wayne Co., IA. He was a surgeon as well as Wayne County Judge. He was also the moving force that brought the Masonic order to Corydon, and their First Worshipful Master there in the new Lodge. I would like to ask if anyone on this list could go to Wayne County Courthouse in Corydon and get me the dates that Dr. Brower served as Judge there. I live aboad, and have sent letters, but I have no response. I would appreciate it, and there is no hurry to this request. I belive the time would have to be between after 1850 and before 1875. I appreciate your time and effort on my behalf. Lillian Kathleen Martin.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Cl.2ADI/822 Message Board Post: I need death records or obits for three sisters: Amanda Jane Jones Winland d 23 Nov 1911, Elizabeth Ann Jones Winland d 13 Jun 1909, Clarinda P. Jones Shriver d 31 Mar 1923. All three were born in Monroe County, Ohio and died in Wayne County, Iowa. I am interested in locating a maiden name for the mother of these sisters. A faded photocopy of an old Bible record was translated as Daips but I believe the name might be Drips. These three were sisters to my ancestor Daniel O. C. Jones. I would appreciate help in locating these records. I would also like to hear from any of their descendants. I have information on the Jones family I would be happy to share. Thanks!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Cl.2ADI/528.1 Message Board Post: I have a two-fold reason for posting this reply. First, when our genealogy chapter was preparing a book on Green Township, Monroe County, Ohio cemeteries, a resident in the area took us to a cemetery in the woods that had been forgotten. It was a burial ground for the Adamson family including Barnet and Isabel Adamson who appears to be the head of the Adamson family in Monroe. One of the burials was Isabel A. Shriver d/o A. & R. She died in 1854 at age 11. Seeing the Adamson name with the Shriver surname made me think this information may be of value to you. Secondly, I am seeking a death record or obituary for Clarinda P. Jones Shriver who was born in Monroe County and removed to Wayne County with her husband. She died in Wayne in March 1923. I am trying to locate a record that might identify her mother's maiden name. Clarinda is a sister to my ancestor. I would appreciate hearing from you if you have any information on Clarinda. I assume she is related to your S! hriver family. Thanks!

    1. Middlebrook family
    2. Lilly
    3. I am researching the Middlebrook family of Wayne Co. This was a very large family that settled in Wayne Co,, originally from England, to Canada, to NY, and finally to Wayne. I am particularly following Edward Noble Middlebrook who married Effie N. Greenlee, also from a well known Wayne Co. family. Edward and Effie married 1886 and then migrated to Idaho, then Oregon and finally to California. If anyone is following the history of the Middlebrook or Greenlee families of Wayne, please write. Thank you. Lillian Kathleen Martin.

    1. John E. Wright and family
    2. Lilly
    3. John E. Wright b. 1849 OH, and his brother Seth Wright b. 1847 OH., and their Grandfather Seth Wright b. 1798 VT are all listed together on the 1880 Census in Wayne CO. This family came to Wayne Co. from OH. and the younger Seth was a clothing dealer. John married a local girl and left in 1881 on the Oregon Trail. But I believe that Seth and his Grandfather stayed in Wayne Co. His wife was Jane and his daughter was Lenna. They lived in Corydon, and most likely had a clothing store in the business area. I am looking for a listing of their store, or a death date for the Grandfather, or any information on the family. Thank you very much. Lillian Kathleen Martin.
