GESLING, 65, died Saturday, March 15, 1986, at his home in rural Ainsworth. He had been in failing health for some time. Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Ainsworth Community Church with the Rev. Douglas Tharp officiating. Burial was in the Oregon Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Ainsworth American Legion Avenue of Flags. Harvey Earle GESLING was born July 6, 1920, in Ainsworth, the son of Earl Edward and Mable McFARLAND-GESLING. He attended Ainsworth schools and married Jeanette Gertrude KELLY on September 18, 1944, in Ainsworth. She died July 25, 1970. He married Fairy L. LE on October 4, 1980, in West Liberty. He lived most of his life in Ainsworth where he was a carpenter for 30 years and later farmed. He was a member of the Ainsworth American Legion, V.F.W. and Marine Corp League. He was a member of Ainsworth Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Fairy of Ainsworth; four daughters, Tina (Mrs. Larry) WREDE of Columbus Junction, Cindy (Mrs. Mark) MYERS of Greensboro, North Carolina, Joyce (Mrs. Jeff) JOHNSON of Waukee, and Tammy (Mrs. Dan) SONDAG of Washington; five sons, Tom of Columbus Junction, Terry and Kelley both of Ainsworth, J.H. of Norfolk, Virginia, and Harvey Jr. of Holly Lock, Scotland; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Heck) of Mechanicsville and Robert of Ainsworth; five sistaers, Leila KELLY of Washington, Thelma FARRIER of Ainsworth, Lois STOUT of West Burlington, Carol MELIEHER of Edin, Minnesota and Pauline ROWLES of Cedar Rapids.
