HEDGES Called By Death Mrs. Palmer H. HEDGES, 730 Suth Avenue C, Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, July 29, 1976, at Washington County Hospital at the age fo 72 years, 2 months and 12 days. She had been ill for one week. Doris Edna HUNTING was born May 17, 1904, at Preemption, Illinois, the daughter of John and Lida JINKS-HUNTING. She later lived at Clarence and Hedrick, Iowa. She was married to Palmer Harry HEDGES on October 10, 1923 at Hedrick. Mrs. HEDGES was a postal clerk at Hedrick for over 25 years. She was a member of the American Home Dept. of Fortnightly Club and American Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Women's Fellowship at Washington, the Eastern Star at Hedrick and the Christian Church at Hedrick. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Patricia BURNETT of Marion, Iowa, and Mrs. John SUMMY of Columbus Junction; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in October of 1961 and by one daughter Elinor. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian Church in Hedrick with Rev. C.N. Stevenson officiating. Burial was in the Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick. Memeorials may be given to the Library Fund of your choice.
