    3. Thank you Marcia for your help. I would love to have the obit for Clara. William Skipton had nine children, two boys and seven girls. Clara is one of three I could never find any information on. Two other sisters are still missing, Mary Ida b. June 1859 and Ada born 1868. They were both listed in the 1910 census living with dad in Washington. Thanks again, Dave

    3. The two obits I have are both from the Washington Evening Journal, 24 Feb 1897 and 26 Feb 1897, thanks to the great corresponding secretary of the Washington Co. Genealogical Society. The first one reads: Mrs. Parrot Knouse {sic} died at the home of her father, Mr. Skipton, in West Washington, this afternoon at one o'clock. She had been suffering for some time with dropsical trouble and her death did not come unexpected. At time of going to press no arrangement for the funeral had been made. The family had been living out at Letts, and returned here only a few months ago. The second reads: The funeral services of Mrs. Parrot Knouse were held at the residence of her father, Wm. Skipton, at three o'clock, and interment was in the city cemetery. The husband and family have the sympathy of all. Other research I have done shows Clara L. Skipton Knauss was b. Dec 1872 in IA (her Woodlawn cemetery info says 1872-1897 and the Washington Co. death register shows she was 24 yrs, 2 mo at death, so Dec must have been the birth month). She and Parret had 4 children, Floyd 1892, Ralph and Ray (twins) 1894 - Ray died as an infant, and Marie 1896.
