He had been seriously ill for the past month. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Unted Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville with Dr. Vernon ELGIN in charge. Burial will be in Cambrian Cemetery. Military rites will be held at the graveside. Mr. SPENCER was born August 23, 1897 in Bushnell, Illinois, a son of Jacob B. and Kathryn Anna SHOOP SPENCER. He was reared at Ainsworth and attended Monmouth College. On April 21, 1920, he was married to Ada DAVIS. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the board of directors of the Crawfordsville Savings Bank, a member of the United Presbyterian church, a former past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the OES and the American Legion. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd HANFT of Decorah: and two grandsons, Roger and Richard HANFT.
