OSCAR MARTIN RITES THURSDAY Mrs. Oscar Martin, 73, died at her home in East Wayland, Tuesday morning after an illness of long duration. Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Finley Chapel with Rev. J.J. Pritchard and Rev. Paul Textor in charge. Singers were Mrs. John Dill Hulme, Mrs. Carl Seberg, and Mrs. Vernon Seberg with Mrs. Guy Eubank as organist. Casketbearers were Fred Martin, Billy Stockman, Charles Spenler, Leo Drish, Joe Vargus, and Homer Davison. Burial was made in the Finley Cemetery. The Zehr Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments. The daughter of Andrew and Emma (McKune) Hesser, she was reared in Washington County and was married on March 2, 1898, in the Wayland community to Oscar S. Martin. They resided in the Wayland and Finley communities. She was a member of Finley Chapel. Besides her husband, she is survived by John B. Martin, an adopted son, of Wayland; Mrs. Vera Stockman of Fulton, Illinois, and Mrs. Esther Merideth of Norway, Iowa, daughters; Allen Martin, Loveland, Colo., son; and Mrs. Della Hesseltine, Washington, a sister; also by 20 living grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A son Delbert Ray, and a sister and brother preceeded her in death. Her mother died when she was quite young and she was raised in the C.C. Christner home.
