Threlkeld- L DATE: 3/6/2007 at 20:35:29 Surnames: YODER,SLAUBAUGH,HUNSBERGER Published North English Record: Dec 7, 2006 Marcus Yoder, 64 Funeral services for Marcus Wayne Yoder, 64, Wellman, were held at 10:30 am Monday Dec. 4, at West Union Mennonite Church, rural Parnell. He died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City from colon cancer. The Rev. David Boshart and the Rev. helen Yoder officiated at the service. Burial was in West Union Cemetery. Marcus Wayne Yoder was born Dec. 10, 1941, near Wllman, the son of Lester & Carrie (Slaubaugh) Yoder. He attended rural Franklin School and graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1960. He grew up in the Wellman community, then worked as a milk tester in Holmes County, Ohio, from 1963 to 1965. He married Pearl Hunsberger Nov. 27, 1965, in Perkasie, Pa. The couple lived in the Wellman community, where he had farmed since 1966. He was a member of the West Union Mennonite Church and the Johnson County Dairy Testing Association. He loved being on the farm, tending to his dairy cattle and it was especially meaningful for him to help with this year's harvest. Yoder is survived by his wife, one daughter, Ranea Yoder, Goshen, Ind; two sons and their wives, Marlow & Jenny, Kalona & Karsten & Jessica of North English; Three grandchildren, Aidan, Kelyn and Malia and four brothers & their wives, Carroll & Nancy Yoder, Harrisonburg, Va., and Wilbur & Helen Yoder, Milford and Edna Yoder, Galen & Gloria Yoder, all of Wellman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
