He had been seriously ill since Aug 25. He was born Dec 20, 1895, in rural Brighton, a son of Elliott Alonzo and Josephine Nelson Brown. He was raised and educated in rural Brighton. On Mar 23, 1915, he married Clara Susan Palm in Fairfield. She died Apr 23, 1985. Surviving him are two daughters; Mrs Wesley (Josephine Mullikin) Greene, Wayland, Mrs. Wesley (Leila) Mullikin, Brighton; four sons, Doyle and Clarence J. of Washington; Kenneth of New London, and Dale of Jackson, MO; 26 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, one daughter, three grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
