I am not related to Mrs. Herr and have no further information re: her. Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane Herr, 67, or Washington, will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, Nov 2, 2001, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 pm Thursday with the family present. Mrs. Herr died Tuesday, Oct 30 in Washington where she was involved in a car accident. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oregon Township Cemetery, Ainsworth. She was born May 31, 1934 near Red Oak, to Fay and Violet Gardner Corbin. She married T. Robert "Tiony" Herr June 26, 1955 in Grant, Iowa. He preceded her in death September 17, 1981. She was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College where she earned her bachelor of science degree. She had been a kindergarten teacher in Conesville. She had recently worked at Orchard Hill Care Facility as a resident aide in Washington. Survivors include her children, Terry Kirk and Dan Messer, Susan Herr, David Herr, William Herr, all of Washington; Theodore "Ted" Herr and his wife Jolynn of Conesville, and Jill Duwa and her huaband Jeff, Keota; two grandchildren, Nicole Shepherd, Washington and Sami Herr, Conesville; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and an infant son.
