The death records of Washington County, Iowa, from 1881 to about 1930 have been filmed by the LDS church and are available for rent through their branch family history centers, for a nominal fee. The library at Washington, Iowa has indexed them all and the printout is available in their genealogy department. Iowa also went to a statewide registration of deaths about 1910 ? And they are available from the department of vital statistics, in Des Moines. Their website gives the years covered and the fee for copies.
