I am not related to Ms. Johnson and have no further information. Graveside funeral services for 65 year old Elsie Johnson of Washington, Iowa were held on Monday at 2 pm at the Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus City, Iowa. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. There was no visitation. Elsie died Saturday, April 8 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. Arrangements were handled by the Stacy-Lewis Funeral HOme, Columbus Junction. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Elsie Marie Irving was born May 21, 1934 in Bangor, Maine to Louis and Olive Coughlin Irving. Elsie served in the Army as a nurse. Elsie continued her nursing career after leaving the Army. She currently was employed as a nurse at the Orchard Hill Res. Care Facility in Washington, Iowa. Elsie loved to help people and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Elsie is survived by her children, Bill Streb, PLeasant HIll, Iowa and Chris Johnson, Washington, Iowa. Also surviving is a brother, Ed Irving and his wife, Joyce, Columbus Junction and a sister, Marguerite Johnson, St. Paul, Minnesota. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles.
