MY SURNAMES IN IOWA ARE TAYLOR AND HAMILTON PAT [email protected]

The only Washington Co Iowa surname is Houdek. When they cut the stone for ggpa, they spelled it Houddk. We are in the area starting abt 1870 to the mid 1900's. In addition to Wenzil, are Mary, Rose, Peter Richard, John Skipton. How they got there or what they did is a complete mystery. My gfather, Richard m. ran a restaurant in Muscatine, button factory in McGregor, made holsters for the Army and then, moved family to Galesburg, Illinois where he founded and ran the food service for Knox College. Got lots of holes in this and great information going foreword. Happy to share.
