    3. Would like to find relatives/informaiton about the S.E. Nelson family that lived close to the Mahaska/Keokuk Co. line. Samuel E. Nelson was born in Tenn,. in Oct 1834, died near Delta, Iowa 1889. Wife Arilla/Aurilla James was born Tenn. 1bt 1836, died in after 1881. He was a minister at What Cheer at one time. I found them on the census in Mahaska Co. near Delta in the 1880 census, I believe. I know he was a minister for 30 years, but do not know where he served other than What Cheer. Children are Darcus M., William A., Sarah A., Josephine Arilla (my great-gr mother), Mary E., John H., Henry or Harry M., Samuel E., Walter & Harvey. If anyone can put me in touch with descendants or information on this family, I would be so grateful. Are any still around Keokuk-Mahaska counties? Thanks, Linda Carris Boswell [email protected] "all the 0's are zeros. Texas

    3. Linda, I am a direct descendant of Samuel E. Nelson's brother, Henry Harrison Nelson, who lived in Richland (Keokuk Iowa. Their mother, Dorcas, also lived in the area. They had several brothers and sisters who migrated all over the U.S., mostly in the south. No others in Iowa that I know of, and I don't think anyone in H.H. Nelson's line is still in Keokuk County. I have some info on the Nelson family going back a couple of generations to Barryman Nelson, if you're interested.
