Does anyone know or, if not, can someone lookup the regiments and companies of Ellery Foster and John S. Boal, both of Washington County, during the Civil War? John Boal has a Civil War maker on his grave in the Wassonville Cemetery. Thanks for any help. Dear Aaron, I found the following info on the names you requested. Ellery N Foster, claimed residence in Washington Co, Iowa, enlisted as a private at age 21yrs. Served F Co., 1st Cal Reg IA, mustered out at St. Louis, MO, on 1 September 1865. I did not find John S Boal claiming residence in Iowa will serving in the Civil War. I did find 6 who served in PA. Just a note. I have ordered many old military records and files. I was fortunate enough to find additional clues on my families through these records, though the price of these records have gone up quite a bit. Good luck.
